Commerce General Shift I & II

About the Department


B.Com Programe was introduced in the year 1997 with a strength of 15 students. In the academic year 2006-07 Shift II as established with 5 students. To meet the demand for the course, one more batch started in the year 2014-2015. At present Department has 12 faculty members with 600 students.  

This Programme opens an arena of opportunities in the field of Commerce, Business and Administration. The Department aims at maintaining academic excellence and equipping students with the skills necessary to face the challenges of the business world. The undergraduate programme offers an innovative syllabus which caters to the varying needs of students. 

There is a blend of theoretical and practical exposure to the students through Seminars, Guest Lectures, Workshops and Industrial Visits. The Department also facilitates the students to pursue Professional Courses and to appear for Competitive exams by providing them Career Guidance Programmes through expertise from the outside organizations. The Department also encourages the students to participate in internal house competitions, inter-collegiate technical and cultural events to explore their talents and skills.


Requirements: Pass in +2 with Commerce and Accountancy

  • To develop innovative and creative thinking among the students through various training in Soft Skill, Computing skill and Certificate Courses.
  • To prepare them for subsequent Post Graduate studies and to achieve success in their professional careers.
  • To provide quality education through personalized approach and also to inculcate noble inputs of discipline, creativity, skills and social values.


 Commerce course prepares the student to take up challenging endeavors in the current competent global scenario. This course provides adequate knowledge in all areas of business to meet global demands. The students master subjects like Accounting, Practical Auditing, Taxation, Entrepreneurial development, Economics, Statistics, Law and Insurance. This course helps the students to gain the knowledge and to establish themselves as successful business personnel. Commerce is an evergreen course.  This course gives wider scope to pursue higher studies and complete professional courses   such as M.Com., M.B.A., M.C.A., CA, ICWA. ACS, CFA etc.   The course facilitates to compete for job placement in reputed companies in different sector.

Applicant must be a commerce group student and secured atleast 60% in their higher secondary education.

B.Com (General) is the overview of all areas/ subjects. Whereas B.Com (Specialization like CS, BM, A&F, CA etc.) meant for specialized in a particular area/ subject

                                                If a candidate holding degree with minimum of 55% of marks, they are exempted from doing foundation courses.
