The department offers 3 year Undergraduate programme, B.Sc. Visual Communication affiliated to University of Madras, which is a much sought after course for those with a creative bent of mind. Art & Design is a major part of the syllabi. Still Photography and TV Production are also given due importance. The animation program comprises of 2D & 3D, using animation software like 3D Studio Max, Macromedia flash, etc. Film making is also an important program in the course. Students are trained to make short films, documentaries and advertisements.
The students will come out with overall knowledge of software and creative skills on par with the media industry. They even have a good scope of setting up their own studios after having essential experience in the respective field.

The department signed a MoU on 27.01.2017 with Stone Bench Creation, a popular and successful film production company in terms of knowledge sharing and industrial support to bridge the gap between the academy and the industry. They are offering workshops, film production guidance and internships to the students.

Internship is mandatory.
Students are required to do minimum 30 days (1 month) of internship after the end of semester V in their specialization subject of VI semester.

Every final year students gets the chance to intern in a media organization of their choice. The mandatory internship component, along with college projects, research papers and dissertations give the students a first-hand experience of the media industry, boosting their employability skills and making them an asset for any employer.
We understand the value of experiential learning – critical to media training – imparting it by way of industrial visits, workshops, and college events. A minimum of two industrial visits are planned for each batch for every semester. As part of the curriculum, students get to visit leading Animation Companies, Gaming Industries, Publishing Houses, Broadcasting Stations and Production Studios. They get the opportunity to interact with and learn from senior personalities from the news and entertainment industries.
