The Department of Bank Management, established in 2010, is staffed with dedicated faculty members who are passionate about providing students with a comprehensive understanding of banking and financial services. The primary goal of this department is to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to excel in the dynamic banking industry. B.Com (Bank Management) is an Under Graduate degree course in the field of Commerce, with specific reference to Bank Management. The course enriches the students’ knowledge on different aspects of Banking, Commerce and Accounting, along with a thorough understanding of the practical application of the theory. The students are trained in different areas of banking and financial services where they can take up managerial positions.
The subjects covered are: Banking Theory Law & Practice, International Banking, Banking Theory Regulatory Mechanism, Financial Accounting, Corporate Accounting, Management Accounting, Economics, Security Analysis & Portfolio Management, Auditing, Marketing of Banking Services, Technology in Banking, Business Communication and Principles of Management.
The programme provides a foundation for taking up higher studies in Commerce, Management, and Banking related areas. After completing B.Com. BM, you can do M.Com or MBA, the choice depends on your interest. You can also prepare for the competitive exams like bank exams, SSC, railways, UPSC etc. You can also go for courses like - CA, ACS, ICWA, CMA, CFA.
If a candidate holding B.Com. BM degree with minimum of 55% of marks, they are exempted from doing foundation courses. Students can directly take up professional courses such as CA (Chartered Accountant), CMA (Certified Management Accountant), CS (Company Secretary) or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst).
