Central Library
The Central library of HCAS was established in the year 1995. The total area of the library building is about 4495 sq ft. The college takes pride in a well stocked library enriched with numerous textbooks and reference books. The library brings forth knowledge based services like reference, N-LIST, Internet browsing and E-services. The Central library is automated using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Library Management System (LMS) to carry out its routine operations and is secured with CCTV. Library staff assists the faculty and students in fulfilling the thirst of the users’ academic quests. National and international journals have been subscribed to enrich the staff and students research activities.

- Reprography facility available in the library can be availed by paying Rs.1.00/- for a copy

General Instructions:
- Readers should observe strict silence in the library.
- Mobile phones or any other personal electronic gadgets must be switched to silent mode before entering the library.
- Bags and personal belongings should be left at the assigned counter.
- Users must sign the entry-exit register available at the entrance.
- A student has to produce the ID at the time of the transaction.
- Students can borrow 3 books for their reference for a duration of 14 days.
- Reference resources (Reference books/Magazines/Journals and Newspapers) will not be issued.
- Users can have a maximum of two renewals.
- The readers are asked to check the condition of books at the time of borrowing, in case the books are found damaged, mutilated or spoilt while returning, the reader has to replace the same as a new book.
- Users should not reshelf the book; instead, leave the same at the library counter.
- Loss of borrowed book has to be reported immediately to the librarian.
- A borrowed book, if recalled by the librarian has to be returned immediately.
- Maintain a queue at the circulation counter for faster service.
- Overdue fine will be collected till the book is replaced or returned at Rs.1.00/- per day.
- Students are advised not to keep their mobile phone, purse/wallet or any valuable items in the property counter, as a matter of fact library is not responsible for any kind of loss.
- Handle the library materials with utmost care. In case of marking, underlining, scribbling, clipping of books or damage of any kind of library resources is absolutely forbidden. The borrower shall remain responsible for the damaged material.
- Users must follow the dress code of the college while visiting the library.
- Switch off fans and lights when it is not required
- The library is pleased to accept donation of manuscripts and book materials
- Monday - Saturday : 8.45 AM – 4.00 PM
- Saturdays (Non-Working day): 8.45 AM – 1.45 PM
The Duties and Functions of the Library Advisory Committee are
- To make policy for procurement of books, journals, and other resources
- To look into the day-to-day problems of the Library clientele.
- To prepare a budget and proposal for the development of the library
- To work towards modernization and improvement of library and documentation
- To take measures to increase the membership of the library
Qualifications
- Ph.D in Library and information science
- M.Phil in Library and information science
- MA Public Administration
- M.L.I.S in Library and information science
- B.Sc Computer Science
Work experience
- 20 years of experience as a Librarian

- Published a book chapter
- Published 3 papers in international and national journals
- Participated in 10 international and national conferences
- Participated in 10 national seminars/workshops
