The Department of Computer Applications, Hindustan College of Arts and Science, organized a Digital Literacy Camp under the Hindustan Outreach Program for People Empowerment (HOPE) on 26th September 2025 at the Mambakkam Panchayat Office. The initiative was aligned with SDG-based outreach projects to engage with the local panchayat and empower rural communities through digital awareness. The camp, titled “e-Shakthi: Digital Mambakkam”, aimed to educate local residents about digital services and equip them with the skills required to access government facilities online. The program was actively conducted by the college faculty members and enthusiastic students who took charge of guiding the villagers through hands-on demonstrations. Objectives of the Program: ●    To create awareness on the importance of digital literacy for rural development. ●    To guide villagers in accessing Revenue Certificates, Social Welfare Services, Consumer Welfare Services, and other essential Government Services through digital platforms. ●    To bridge the digital divide by promoting inclusive participation and engagement. Highlights of the Program: ●    Faculty members and student volunteers jointly explained the step-by-step processes of availing government services online. ●    Practical sessions were organized where villagers used laptops and mobile devices to explore digital service portals. ●    Special attention was given to women and senior citizens to ensure inclusivity. ●    The participants expressed keen interest and appreciated the efforts of the college in bringing such initiatives to their doorstep.
