The PG course was established in the year 2021 with strength of 25 students. Master of Visual Communication is a long-term Post Graduate program subsidiary to University of Madras. It is separated into four semesters and every semester comprises of a well planned course structure that spotlights on different regions in the fields of Media. The Department follows the guideline of comprehensive development for hopeful media professionals levelling up their abilities across the scope of Media- Print, electronic and online. 2. How are you preparing your students to be industry ready?▼
Our studio is one of the best equipped in the whole of the city – providing students the opportunity to record, edit and produce high-quality audio-visual content using HD cameras, green screen, studio lighting, professional quality software and edit suites, in a live, multi-cam setting. Practical classes are held in these laboratories by dedicated and well qualified faculty, who make sure every student is thorough and well equipped in these. We are providing them with hands on experience by conducting workshops and Industrial Visits.
3. What are the qualities we are looking for in students applicants, for them to do well in the course?▼
Students with a positive attitude towards study, passion for the course, and more creativity are the qualities they need to be successful in this course. Student applicant from any branch in their UG degree are eligible to study M.Sc. Visual Communication course.
4. Why media is special in HCAS?▼
Every final year students gets the chance to intern in a media organization of their choice. The mandatory internship component, along with college projects, research papers and dissertations give the students a first-hand experience of the media industry, boosting their employability skills and making them an asset for any employer.
5. Will I be equipped with Industrial standard?▼
We understand the value of experiential learning – critical to media training – imparting it by way of industrial visits, workshops, and college events. A minimum of two industrial visits are planned for each batch for every semester. As part of the curriculum, students get to visit leading Animation Companies, Gaming Industries, Publishing Houses, Broadcasting Stations and Production Studios. They get the opportunity to interact with and learn from senior personalities from the news and entertainment industries.
