Best Education Institute

The Department of Social Work established its Post Graduation in the year 2010. The Department is keen to equip professionalism at its best to the students through wide range of avenues, exposure, network and activities. The students are well-trained to execute a range of social work activities in Non-Governmental Organizations, corporate and hospitals. The social work training program includes lectures, seminars, research and concurrent and Block field training. Our students are encouraged and given opportunities to present and publish papers in international and national conferences, workshops, seminars and webinars to enrich themselves with wide range of knowledge and research possibilities. The Department has signed MoUs with various International and Intercontinental Universities like Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand and Kenya. This brings opportunities for doing an international internship and short-term course for the students. The department also has a student forum called STEPS.

The Department recognizes society as an organic entity and thus several intervention programs help in nourishing and transforming the students as responsible citizens of this country. It brings countless opportunities to make difference in oneself and society.

Scope of the Course

MSW graduates can work in NGOs, hospitals, schools, government agencies, mental health centers, correctional facilities, and community development organizations.

2. What are the courses offered by the Social Work Department?
The department offers both Under Graduation and Post Graduation programs. Master of Social Work is a Post Graduate programme comprising of two years with 4 semesters with field work practicum, an experiential component of the program, with observations of social agencies, hands-on learning and other experiential learning throughout the students’ academic career.
3. What are the eligibility criteria to join Master’s in Social Work at Hindustan College of Arts & Science?
The eligibility for pursuing a Master’s degree is, graduation in any discipline, but the candidates having a bachelor's degree in Social Work (B.S.W. / B.A) or Psychology, Social Science, Sociology, Economics, Commerce, Life Science, Mathematics or any other related fields, get preference. Candidates can opt for specializations like, Medical & Psychiatric Social Work· Human Resource Management or Community Development.
4. What is the course module like and what topics are covered?
The course module is comprehensive and has papers varying from social work profession, sociology, psychology, community development, law and research as Core Papers along with the Field Work Practicum.
