The Department of Visual Communication was established in 2008 and is known for its dynamic and academically appealing approach to enhancing students' skills and knowledge for public and global media platforms. It provides students with numerous opportunities through a contemporary curriculum that includes a variety of activities and workshops led by experienced academicians and industry professionals from various media fields. Currently, the department offers a B.Sc. in Visual Communication, with student strength of over 147.

The department boasts excellent infrastructure that meets industry standards, with fully equipped studios for Photography, Drawing, Multimedia, and Television production and Audio Production lab, featuring the latest technology. All software programs used for educational purposes are legally licensed.

Scope of the Course

The course offers a wide range of opportunities in the media, entertainment, advertising, and design industries.

Graduates can pursue careers as graphic designers, video editors, animators, photographers, filmmakers, art directors, and UI/UX designers.

The degree equips students with the creative and technical skills required for content creation in both traditional and digital platforms.

Opportunities are available in TV channels, film production houses, advertising agencies, design studios, publishing companies, and digital marketing firms.

Fundamentals of Snap AR

introduces the basics of Augmented Reality (AR) development using Snapchat's Lens Studio. It covers AR filters, 3D effects, interactive elements, and face tracking technology

2D Animation

The fundamentals of creating motion in a two-dimensional space using drawings, characters, and backgrounds. It covers storyboarding, character design, frame-by-frame animation, and digital tools

Image Processing

Teaches techniques to analyze, enhance, and manipulate digital images. It covers topics like filtering, segmentation, feature extraction, and applications in fields such as medical imaging, computer vision, and AI.

Avid Editing

Training in non-linear video editing using Avid Media Composer, a professional-grade software widely used in film and television.

  • The department prides over its well equipped state-of-the-art Audio lab, Edit suite, Photographic lab & Multimedia lab. Practical classes are held in these laboratories by dedicated and well qualified faculty, who make sure every student is thorough and has had hands-on-experience in these.
