A guest lecture on “Internet Emissions from Digital Platforms” was conducted on 30 July 2025 with the objective of creating awareness about the environmental impact of digital technologies. The session was delivered by Ms. Poornima Jayaraj, who served as the resource person. During the lecture, the resource person explained the concept of internet emissions and how daily digital activities such as streaming, cloud storage, social media usage, and data transfers contribute to carbon emissions. She highlighted the carbon footprint generated by online platforms and discussed the role of data centers, energy consumption, and digital infrastructure in environmental degradation. The session also emphasized the importance of responsible digital usage and sustainable practices, such as reducing unnecessary data consumption and adopting eco-friendly digital habits.
