A seminar on Organ Donation was conducted on 13th August 2024 with the objective of creating awareness among students about the importance of organ donation and its impact on saving lives. The session was delivered by Dr. Ramasubramanian K, Senior Consultant in Cardiac Anesthesia and Heart Care. The resource person explained the medical aspects of organ donation, including eligibility, procedures, and the role of organ transplantation in treating life-threatening conditions. He also addressed the ethical and social dimensions of organ donation, dispelling common myths and emphasizing the need for informed consent and social responsibility. The seminar was highly informative and interactive, encouraging students to actively participate in discussions. As a significant highlight of the program, students took an oath on organ donation, pledging their support towards promoting awareness and willingness to donate organs. The seminar concluded successfully, leaving a strong impact on the participants by instilling a sense of social responsibility and humanitarian values.
