The Department of Management organized a live session on “Tax Planning and E-Filing of Income Tax and GST” on 25 July 2025 with the objective of enhancing practical knowledge on taxation and compliance procedures. The session was delivered by Dr. S. Varadharaj, Professor, Head & Research Advisor, Department of Commerce, Government Arts & Science College, Perumbakkam. Dr. S. Varadharaj provided an in-depth explanation of the fundamentals of tax planning, highlighting legal methods to minimize tax liability. He also elaborated on the step-by-step process of e-filing Income Tax Returns, recent updates in tax laws, common errors to avoid, and the importance of timely filing. The session further covered GST registration, return filing procedures, and compliance requirements, which were explained with practical illustrations. The program witnessed active participation from 250 participants, including students and faculty members. The session was interactive, and participants actively clarified their doubts during the question-and-answer segment. The resource person emphasized the relevance of taxation knowledge for commerce students and professionals in today’s digital economy. Overall, the session was highly informative and beneficial.
