Physical Education has become an integral part of education, which aims at improvising the human performance through several physical activities, for the holistic development of physical, moral, ethical, social, mental and emotional healthy citizens.
The College has well established play grounds and infrastructure for sports and games. Our students are divided into Four Houses; each House consisting of a mixed equal number of students from every department, year and class. The Physical Education department organizes several sports and games competitions for these Four Houses, to motivate the students to participate in various inter-collegiate, inter-university and open tournaments. Our College has exemplary basketball, volleyball, cricket, football, kho kho [girls and boys] kabbadi, martial arts teams.
A well equipped Multipurpose Gymnasium is available for all students to develop their physical well being.
Every year, the Physical Education department conducts selection camps, to recruit outstanding sports women and men for forming our College teams, who will be admitted through Sports Quota, and will be provided complete scholarship; with boarding and lodging facilities. The department conducts Annual College Sports Day every year, inviting distinguished sports personalities as Chief Guest.
The Department has been producing several outstanding sports personnel who have brought laurels to our college and University, in state, national and international competitions. Several of our alumni have been offered jobs in leading multi-national companies and many are already placed well in either our State or National Governments.
To engage in pursuit of excellence in the promotion and development of Physical Education and sports and games, through innovative programs in coaching and training students, and evolve a holistic approach to the betterment of human resources through a harmonious blend of body, mind and spirit.
To propose an agenda for the promotion and development of fitness & health of the body, mind and soul of our sports personnel, so as to mould them into physically fit & emotionally matured citizens with leadership qualities.
To collaborate and coordinate sports activities with our State and National Sports Bodies to bring out the best in our sports personnel.

HCAS Volleyball team won the DPE-TNPESU Rolling Trophy 2020 – 2021 organized by Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University, Chennai. 24 teams in the state participated in this tournament and the HCAS Volleyball team won the series against Physical Education and Sports University volleyball team on 12.03.2021.
HCAS Basketball team became the Runners up in the basketball tournament against Hindustan University. Around 15 teams participated in this tournament.
The Department of Physical Education made valuable contribution in bringing glory to the institution. Our students have been selected to participate in the University of Madras, National and State (Tamil Nadu) senior and junior level youth tournaments.
The College Volleyball team won the Winners position in the tournament of ‘Father Victor Memorial State Level Volleyball Tournament,’ University of Madras “A” Zone Inter-College Volleyball Tournament, IIT Madras State Level Sports Festival, and N. George Memorial Volleyball Trophy, Runner position in State Level Inter-College Volleyball Tournament, and Guru Fest 2019 State Level Volleyball Tournament, held at various institutions during the academic year.
The College Volleyball team secured 3rd position in the University of Madras Inter-Zone, Inter-Collegiate Volleyball Tournament and the Independence Day Cup held at D.B. Jain College on 23rd and 24th October 2019, and on 12th and 13th August 2019, respectively.
The College Basketball team won the Runners position in the tournament of University of Madras “A” Zone Inter-Collegiate Basketball Tournament, and Gill Memorial Inter-Collegiate Basketball Tournament.
The Basketball team secured 3rd position in the IIT Madras State Level Sports Festival and 4th position in the University of Madras Inter-Zone Inter-College Basketball Tournament.
The Football team of the College secured the 3rd position in the Cunnan Trophy State Level Football Tournament held at DRBCCC Hindu College, Pattabiram, held from 21st - 24th December 2019.
Began, III B.COM (G) secured Winners position in the 4th International Hero’s Taekwondo Cup 2019 Trophy, held at Chin Woo Stadium, Kualalumpur, Malaysia between 16th and 18th August 2019.
R. Aravind (I BSW) was selected to represent the University of Madras Volleyball team to participate in the All India Inter-University Volleyball Tournament, and also selected to represent the Tamil Nadu State Volleyball Team to participate in the All India National Level Volleyball Tournament.
R. Guru Moorthy secured Runners position in the National Taekwondo Championship 2019 Trophy, held at BBMP Hall, Gandhinagar, Bangalore, on 28th and 29th December 2019.
K. Tamilarasan, I BBA, secured Winners position in the 4th Tamil Nadu State Rural Games Championship 2019, Kabaddi Trophy, held at Dhanalakshmi Engineering College, Tambaram, Kanchipuram Dist, on 13th October 2019.
Pirai Sudan, III B. Com (A/F), was selected to represent the Tamil Nadu State Youth Volleyball Team to participate in the Youth National Volleyball tournament.
Dharan Kumar, II BCA, was selected to represent the Tamil Nadu State Youth Volleyball Team to participate in the Tamil Nadu State Championship Volleyball tournament.
Arjun. A, III BCA, represented the Rural Indian Silambam team and secured Winners position in the Championship Trophy held at Goa.
Ramachandran.K, II B.COM (CS), represented the Youth National Badminton team and secured Runners position in the National Championship Trophy.
Kishore, III BSC (CS), represented the Tamil Nadu Weight Lifting team and secured 3rd position in the National Championship Trophy held at Uttar Pradesh.
Shakthi, III B.Sc (CS), represented the State Championship Trophy held at Chennai and secured 3rd position.
