International Organ Donation Day

Organ Donation Rally held at HCAS

The HCAS  along with Rotary Club of Chennai celebrated International Organ Donation Day today by taking out a rally from Kelambakkam near Chettinad Hospital to HCAS campus.  Three hundred and fifty students and 15 staff of HCAS participated along with Dr. Susan Marthandan Director and the Principal Dr. S. Thirumagan.  Dr. Binoy John a doctor from MIOT and Rotary functionary also participated.  The NSS NCC and Rotary Club and volunteers participated in the rally as it started from Kelambakkam and ended in Campus.

Speaking on the occasion Dr. Susan Marthandan, Director said of eye transplants and how eye donation gives life to a new person and spoke on importance of it  She spoke more on organ donation and how to operate people for such kind of ailments stressed importance of organ donation in today’s accident prone society

Dr. Binoy John Rotary club functionary and doctor spoke of how heart attacks  can be minimized or prevented and how to cure heart ailments and stressed organ donation as an importance part of prolonging lives and saving precious ones

Dr. S. Thirumagan Principal spoke on Organ donation as a major participant of this program as he saw someone about to die but was rescued due to is help stressed the importance donation   People live your life if you donate organs and will live longer than you can he said Organ donation is an important activity in today’s accident prone society and this saves crucial lives  he said

He praised the good quality prevalent in students that they care more for someone in distress and rush to help them.  This is a rare quality and should be applauded he said

Dr. S. Illanjiam Dean School of Sciences said of organ donation and volunteered to donate her organ.
